Last year, a group of Irish Musicians got together to cut a quick, fun album for a fundraiser for the ill wife of a fellow musician. Terry Murphy, Michael O’Brien, Frank Kennedy, and Colin Paige, all verteans of the Detroit area folk scene, joined forces to become the Detroit River Shantymen. The recording, a collection of sea shantys, was sold exclusively to assist their friend. Joined by fellow musician Pat O’Connor, and the band Odd Enough, the Shantymen aim to provide a night of grogg fueled Buccaneer style fun.
